DOM

DOM (Drawn Over Mandrel) Tubing

Our DOM tubing is produced from electric resistance welded (ERW) carbon and alloy steel with all internal flash removed. The semi-finished tube undergoes a secondary cold-drawing process through a die and over a mandrel simultaneously. This precision processing achieves exact finished dimensions, superior surface finishes, and the highest possible weld strength.

To meet specific project demands, our DOM tubing can be thermally treated after drawing to refine mechanical properties, improve machinability, or increase toughness.

Standard Specifications & Grades

We stock DOM tubing compliant with the following industry standards:

  • ASTM A513 Type 5: (The standard for high-precision mechanical tubing)

Available Chemistries:

  • 1020 / 1026: Standard carbon grades for general machining and structural use.

  • ST52.3: High-strength low-alloy steel for hydraulic and high-stress applications.

Size Capabilities:

  • Diameter: 0.375″ to 12″ OD

  • Wall Thickness: 0.035″ to 0.625″
